Not Just Racing

I often hear the comment " well, I'm not really into racing". I get it, but what I want to make clear is that attending a large racing event is more than just racing. Just like at the big swap meets, the participants are what make it. Where else can you meet so many people with exactly the same interests. I'm not just talking about the HO car hobby. I'm talking cars in general. With some of the friends I've made in the hobby, I've attended the drags, car shows, hill climbs and hoping to soon attend an SCCA event.

At the 2013 Fray I had a chance to sit down and talk to Greg Davis, owner of "Greg's Garage" a premier resin body maker, racer, and all around good guy. We started swapping car stories and it lead to Greg showing me some of his custom creations. I'll let you decide for yourself, but these cars are pretty cool. I think they exibit the interest in 1/1 cars I was talking about.

Hey guys, it goes without saying that I've made some great friends here as well. I think some of you are car guys too!

Now as it was when we were kids it's about the experience... most of us don't remember who won what race but we remember the experience and the people. It's the same now we're just older. When it is all said and done, it's about the the people we meet and the experiences we have with them. It's not about the toys (stuff), it's about the people that's what we remember as we get older.

So... if possible get out there and start racing who knows what experiences and memories you will have and make!!!

Thanks Serge!!
